Great! We are excited to have you applying for a position in
acute-care work with United. Before you begin the pre-employment
testing process, we would like to give you some details on what
you can expect.
The first step will be to complete a short questionnaire that
provides us with some details about your transcription experience.
You can complete this form and submit it, along with your resume,
online. If your qualifications match those of the position for
which you are applying, you will be given the opportunity to
complete the written portion of our pre-employment test now. This
portion will test your knowledge in four areas: medical
terminology, abbreviations, medications and English/grammar.
Instructions precede each section and we ask that you do not use
reference materials for this exam. If for some reason you are not
given the opportunity to test at this time, your resume and
questionnaire will be forwarded to our recruiting department and
they will contact you for additional information. If you choose
not to take the test now, an email link will be sent to you
allowing you to complete the test at a later time. This link will
remain active for one week following the submission of your
questionnaire and resume.
We understand that your time is valuable and we will therefore
make every effort to contact you within four business hours
following receipt of your written test. Our recruiting department
hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
In order to expedite your application, we may contact you outside
of these hours. At this time, we will discuss the results of your
written test and hopefully be able to offer you the opportunity to
take the dictation section of our pre-employment exam.
